ANNOUNCING POSTER AWARDS
3M and Solvay have stepped up to fund two best posters awards with monetary amounts $500 each:
3M Best Poster Award; and ,
Solvay Best Poster for Sustainability (or Alternative Energies).
The award winners will be recognized during the oral
sessions.
I want to bring this to your attention if many of you
are considering bringing students or associates from your labs. We realize
workshops can be an expense to bring these members and many consider this
low value added. However, given these awards and momentum of a good poster
draw, I hope that you would consider bringing students/associates/colleagues
for a poster presentation. The posters at this meeting will be done a bit
differently than previous FP meetings in that they will be on display
starting Sun and can stay up until late Tuesday. The posters will be up
during the many coffee breaks, breakfasts, two receptions (one dedicated to
posters), and transition time between lunch. It turns out the venue hotel is
great for this logistically. Therefore, this will give poster contributors
maximum exposure for discussion, net-working, and job recruitment.
POSTER PRESENTERSA book of abstracts for presentations and posters will be distributed at the meeting. Presenters are asked to submit a one to two page abstract electronically to lesiar@vt.edu (consider sending a hard copy if your submission includes charts and graphs). A 12-point Times font and single spacing are preferred. Remit documentation to Lesia Linkous, 103 Surge Bldg., MC 0279, Division of Polymer Chemistry, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA 24061, lesiar@vt.edu.
Submission deadline is September 12, 2012
