Fluoropolymers are enabling materials which find applications in critical
technologies from energy conversion, to microelectronics, aeronautics, and
photonics, to extreme environment applications to biomaterials. Traditional
fluoropolymer technology is nearly 65 years old and it maintains a growth
rate above the US and Japanese GNPs. In addition to perfluoropolymers,
partially fluorinated polymers will continue to impact a wide range of
technologies as better control of their unique optical, electronic,
processing, extreme environment stability, and surface properties is
achieved. This will be the sixth biannual FLUOROPOLYMER conference.
FLUOROPOLYMER 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 were successful. This will be
run in only one section, 3 full days with sub-sections as "Mechanisms"
(radical polymerization, polycondensation), "Properties" (surface chemical
inertness, stability in aggressive media, etc), "Applications" (photonics,
Energy such as fuel cell membranes, lithium batteries, solar cells,
piezoelectric devices, etc), as well as electrical and piezoelectrical
applications.
